Swindon boxing promoters Mark and Tony Neilson are confident that Penhill favourite Kelvin Young will return to the ring later this year on one of their shows.

Young had been due to headline Neilson Boxing’ April show but was forced to withdraw because of an issue with his latest MRI scan.

The Swindon boxer’s future will now be in the hands of the British Boxing Board of Control who will make a decision on whether he can box again later next month.

The Neilsons however believe this issue will simply delay Young’s comeback fight rather than mark the end of his illustrious career.

British title hopeful Tamuka Mucha now headlines the bill supported by an undercard full of boxing stars from the south west.

Akeem Ennis-Brown and Danny Butler are among those on the undercard as well as the highly-rated Ryan Wheeler who is now trained by Swindon trainer Rich Farnan.

The April 15th show which takes place at the PlayFootball Arena will also feature amateur fights with boxers from Horseshoe ABC showing off their skills in what is believed to be Swindon’s first-ever pro-am boxing event.

We caught up with the Neilson brothers at the launch of their April show and you can watch their interview with Your Sport’s Steve Butt below.
